ABOUT OUR CHURCH
Our Lady of Miracles Church is a faith community rooted in prayer, service, and fellowship. Located in Ratnagiri, the parish serves the spiritual needs of parishioners and welcomes visitors who seek peace, guidance, and a deeper relationship with God.
Guided by the teachings of the Church, we strive to live as one family in Christ, growing together in faith and love.
History of the Parish
The origins of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Ratnagiri trace back to the 19th century. The oldest records preserved in the church office date to 1873, reflecting a long and rich history of faith in this region.
Until 1954, the parish was administered by missionaries from the Archdiocese of Goa. From 1954 onwards, pastoral responsibility was entrusted to priests from the Diocese of Pune, who continued to nurture and guide the growing parish community.
Jesuit Presence
The Jesuit presence in Our Lady of Miracles Church began in 1995, with Fr. Joseph Pinto SJ serving as the first Jesuit parish priest. Since then, the Jesuits have continued to serve the parish, bringing with them the Ignatian tradition of spirituality, discernment, and service.
Through their pastoral ministry, the Jesuits have played a key role in strengthening faith formation, community life, and outreach within the parish.

Our Parish Community
Our Lady of Miracles Church continues to grow as a living and active parish community. Through worship, service, and participation in parish life, we seek to strengthen bonds among parishioners and remain open to all who wish to walk with us on the journey of faith.
